“There's a race of men that don't fit in, A race that can't sit still; So they break the hearts of kith and kin, And they roam the world at will. They range the field and rove the flood, And they climb the mountain's crest; Their's is the curse of the gypsy blood, And they don't know how to rest.”

Anything You Can Do...

I spotted a contest recently where I could win tickets to the opening night performance of Romeo & Juliet at the Stratgord Shakespeare Festival. We all know how much I love this place, so of course I'm going to enter! But how?

All I have to do is submit a photo of myself reading Shakespeare in an outlandish location! After browsing through a few of the posted submissions (a little unfair, if you ask me - because it makes the "one-upping" game too easy!), I realize that I can do far better than a cat photo. Granted, I might feel a little bad for snatching the prize from the little ballerina or those cute kidlets reading in a canoe from their snowy backyard, but I'm sure it'll pass....

I took a friend to the Van Dusen Botannical gardens this evening for their Festival of Lights (a must-see at this time of year!) and brought along my camera, hoping to get some inspiration.

I met some Gnomes who were interested in my little book....

...and the Abominable Snowman was thrilled with my readings! (but don't tell  the gardeners...I most definitely had to cross the Yeti's fence to get this close to him. Though he was a great listener, his halitosis was abominable, too....)
But you see, although I very much like these photos, I have a plan to do something erven more outlandish tomorrow. You'll have to wait and see!

  1. You've got this in the bag as far as any rational judge is concerned.
